12 days of Xmas (with mischievous toddler in tow).

Yes, it's been fabulous thanks. Had a lovely time. A real break from it all. Lots of fires & marshmallows, lots of glitter & Prosecco, lots of walks & hot choccie, lie-ins & laughs, films & games, tinsel & baubles... talking of which, here's my take on toddlers & trees.

Day 1: Put the tree up and admire it's beauty.

Day 2: Place presents that are already received around the foot of the tree, and admire it some more.

Day 3: Remove all the presents from around the tree until ready to open.

Day 4: Move the tree to a more secure location.

Day 5: Try to decipher which is the tree and which is Sofia Faith, for every time she goes anywhere near it, she ends up with more and more lametta tinsel attached to her.

Day 6: Notice that what was a ton of lametta tinsel, is now a few strands.

Day 7: Spend the entire time chasing Sofia Faith who is wandering with baubles, back and forth.

Day 8: Move the baubles to higher branches well out of her reach.

Day 9: Move all remaining decs to higher branches well out of her reach.

Day 10: Introduce some toddler friendly decs to the tree at Sofia Faith's level.

Day 11: Remove the toddler unfriendly decs

Day 12: Admire the tree in its half-dressed state, and then admire my beautiful and mischievous 2yo.

P.S. It's also been lots of teething & temperatures, hankies & headlice. How nice?!

Crikey, you've had a real time of it!! I am betting you are rather relieved to have that tree down now! Thank you so much for supporting Prose for Thought again xx

Ahh, the prosecco was needed. I remember the toddler tree issue well. When my twins were that age, I got a very small pop up tree, so when it fell down etc it didn't come apart, just stick it back up was a life saver!
Hope everyone is feeling better now

Smart move Karen. We've moved on from headline and hankies to urine infections and major toddler tantrums. Nice. Thank you for visiting!

Lol. This had me in stitches because it just described my Christmas too! Heidi started crawling 2 days before Christmas - perfect timing... not! The tree was naked round the bottom, and overloaded at the top. Oh well!!! Thanks for linking up to #SavouringtheSeason Hope to see you again tomorrow :D
