You whinge… You cringe...

So this morning I sat in the dentist chair for the second time in two days, having just mentioned I was somewhat annoyed that yesterday's filling had fallen out.

What have you done today to make you feel proud? - Fancy a cuppa?

It is as easy as that Get some friends round for a cuppa with you, and join the Eve Appeal’s campaign, Make Time for Tea.

You’ll help raise funds for international research into ovarian cancer.

Almost 7,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with the disease each year and over 4,000 sadly die from it, but with early diagnosis, the outcome can be good.

March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, so grab some tea, cake and friends, and why not host that tea party?!

FRAMED - The Taj Mahal, Etch A Sketch style

Remember Etch A Sketch? Remember how hard it is to make a picture? I do. And Esme Grace is just finding out.

Here's her first attempt at a picture of something other than stairs. The more discerning amongst you will hopefully note a snail?

The Baby Show Excelled

Today saw the first baby show of the year over at London's ExCel centre, and everything bump and baby that you could possibly need (or not) as a parent to be/parent was showcased. All the latest gadgets and gismos were there to be tried and tested, along with team this and brand that….

For me as a journalist of parenting mags however, it wasn't about schmoozing with the brands. It was about meeting mums. Entrepreneurial mums. I love hearing the stories of extraordinary women, who via motherhood have stumbled across something quite randomly genius that has led them to make their mark on the parenting world.

Taking an honest, open and pro-active approach to dealing with bullying

The charity bullying.co.uk is part of the Family Lives website, offering great advice and support to families in the UK. This page and all its links have been helpful to me. And if you are a parent of primary school age children; it could be helpful to you too.

Bullied at five.

Oh little girl of mine, stood tall.
So chipper and so cheery.
Where are you? And who is this?
My shadow, always teary.

Colour me happy! A review.

So yesterday saw a trip to the library and some new books brought home. They've kept us occupied for a while, but what with this awful weather outdoors, today we've had to resort to all sorts of indoor activities. Including colouring.

Parenting is...

...often not being able to resist a glass of wine any day of the week.

Can't concentrate? I try an in-house experiment (2)

A wee while ago, I set out trialling omega oil to see if it could help with my fidgety five-year-old's concentration levels. Her school day was particularly affected. You can read about that here.

It has been just over two months ago that I began giving Esme Grace Udo's choice. An oil which is a blend of plant omegas 3,6 and 9.

FRAMED & Silent Sunday (12)

5/52 The GraceFaith year long art project

Choosing a favourite piece of art, each week of the year.

Excuse the blur, she was so excited and proud,
it was impossible to ask her to keep still

Esme Grace's school has recently been studying puppetry.

Of course, my 5YO who loves art, has thoroughly enjoyed the puppet making merriment.

Musings of a 2YO & LIFE AS IT IS

It was a crappy night.

Sofia Faith (my determined 2YO) woke up telling me that her nappy was wet.

Turned out, it wasn't just the nappy. It was her pj's and cot sheet too.

Bless her.

So there we are, at 3.20am, light's on and legs akimbo (her not me).

Sorted.
