NATIONAL INSECT TAKE AWAY DAY (NIT DAY)

I know, I know, the GraceFaith blog has taken it slow lately. Well we've all been sick. You know it's been literally one thing after another? More snot than you could ever know what to do with. Sinusitis. Tonsilitis. Oh and headlice.

Do you know that I never kept a book for either of the girls, regards their meeting milestones?

Probably due to all that screaming and because I was so busy trying to work out which way was up, that buying one of those books and writing down the date that Esme got her first tooth, or that Sofia first spoke a word, just didn't enter into it.

4/52 The GraceFaith year long art project

Choosing a favourite piece of art, each week of the year.

Here Sofia Faith has selected, cut, glued and put her very own first ever collage together. I love that she has learnt to use scissors by herself this week.

Musings of a 5yo re sibling rivalry

It hit an all time new low today. That sibling rivalry thing. They are both feeling unwell which doesn't help, but imagine my surprise this morning, when Esme accompanies me down the stairs, stating:

E: I've decided I've had enough of Sofia. She is making my life completely miserable.

FRAMED - Quite literally

Esme shows off her new Elton John glasses - my she wears them well! And Sofia has her eyes tested; a routine precaution because her sister wears them. I love these two recent pictures. They sum the girls up perfectly. Meanwhile…

Helen Braid's A FAMILIAR VOICE Poetry & Prose. A review...

A FAMILIAR VOICE POETRY & PROSE by Helen Braid, published October 2013

A Familiar Voice is wrapped so deliciously, you immediately know it is something to treasure.

This treasure from the sea is covered, and tied in twine, with braided border and its artwork so fine. I love mine.

All aboard?

The art work in the previous post was inspired by the fact that we had a Polar Express afternoon here over Christmas.

Christmas 2013 & a tale of two winds

It was windy in our home after such an unusual amount of brussel sprouts had been chomped by all the family - apparently I'm not only coming round to the funny little cabbage balls these days, but actually enjoying them. Add to that the swede and many other gaseous vegetables that were consumed on the big day, and well, wind? I'd say there was more than enough to knock a small child over in our lounge. (Or was that simply Mummy having had too much Prosecco?).

FRAMED Christmas sketches by that artistic hand

12 days of Xmas (with mischievous toddler in tow).

Yes, it's been fabulous thanks. Had a lovely time. A real break from it all. Lots of fires & marshmallows, lots of glitter & Prosecco, lots of walks & hot choccie, lie-ins & laughs, films & games, tinsel & baubles... talking of which, here's my take on toddlers & trees.
