Nappy rash cure? I try an in-house experiment (2)

Ten days ago I set out on an experiment here at home. The method was simple. To trial new nappies and nappy cream on Sofia Faith (my teething 2YO). You can recap here on what my thoughts were prior to starting out.

Fast forward and I am absolutely delighted with the results. Not that Sofia little miss grumpy guts seems to share my delight. For today she has had such a sore mouth, she has found it difficult to talk. Her gums are so inflamed, her drool, constant. Her temper short.

What is easier for her though… is her bottom. Thank goodness. The Naty nappies and cream have helped; significantly. Her teething acidic poo remains, but her angry red rash has gone. I am so impressed.

I've written two reviews - one for the cream and the other, for the nappies/pull ups. First, my take on the cream…

WHAT WE LOVE
The Eco Rash Cream is unlike any other nappy cream I've tried, in as much as it is so light and gentle - like a favourite moisturiser. It rubs in quickly and easily. Just as well, for a few days ago, I found Sofia hiding behind the chair in her room smothered in it. And eating it too!

Now, to those of you that are regular readers of the GraceFaith blog, that will come as no surprise. You hear about her antics regularly. But when you look at the picture (taken shortly after I dragged her out from her hiding place), you might not be surprised, but you may well be shocked. Look again! Her entire face is covered.

Am I bothered? Do I fuss and fret? Not at all. For this is Sofia, who has in her short time with us eaten countless bars of soap, lots of chalk, and, even necked a load of Rinse aid - oh and there's a whole other post entirely!

Don't worry though, she's okay as there's absolutely nothing that can harm her in this cream. It doesn't contain any perfume, dye, or parabens (those are chemicals) at all. And anyway, it's hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested; my little allergic one was fine!

'So what is in it then?' I hear you ask.

Natural products: Bisabolol, an antibacterial skin care product, proven to reduce inflammations and promote wound healing. And Allantoin, a healing, moisturising, anti-irritating naturally derived agent and E-vitamin, a powerful natural antioxidant. Now I know that all sounds very impressive, but really, it is.

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

This cream is great. There is nothing you have to watch out for at all, except perhaps any other mischievous children like Sofia that can suddenly reach the shelf where the nappy cream sits!

VERDICT

The Naty Nature Babycare Eco Rash Cream is hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested, with ingredients that are biodegradable. It comes in a very handy fit in your baby bag size recyclable tube, and at £3.25 for 100ml, I believe is very reasonably priced. What's not to love?

IF YOU TOO ARE INTERESTED IN HELPING YOUR BABY'S BOTTOM AND THE PLANET, DO LOOK OUT FOR MY NEXT POST WHERE I REVIEW NATY NAPPIES. I ALSO GIVE DETAILS OF MY NATY GIVEAWAY: A WEEKS SUPPLY OF NAPPIES.

FOOTNOTE: I would like to add here that there are three basic steps for any carer to consider when it comes to preventing nappy rash.

1) Change your baby's nappy frequently.

2) Let your baby's bottom 'air' for as long as possible each day.
3) Cleanse your baby's skin properly, patting it dry with a clean towel.

(I was sent this product for free, but my opinions/views are all my own).

Love these guys! We've used their nappies and changing paraphernalia from the start with both our girls and have never had nappy rash problems :-)
